Pacific Cascade Heights
Mountain modern is a very popular style that spans a broad range of architectural design. This ranges from the clean low slope roofs inspired by mid-century modern to steeper sloped roofs harkening back to traditional ski lodges with a modern twist. This Spencer Williams design leans towards the latter. Dug into a rock slope on a 10 acre lot, this home opens up to the mountains with huge expanses of glass, deep overhangs, and amazing indoor-outdoor connectivity. This project also features a large detached shop with an attached pool house to serve people using the poured concrete pool and hot tub. They have a lot of great ideas for the interiors and are about to start working through those with Kate Darden.
