Sisters - Fryrear
Carved out of a large acreage farm, this home looks out unobstructed to the Cascades from Mt. Bachelor to Mt. Hood on a clear day, which most of them are. That unique situation also means that the home backs up to a long expanse of green pasture that the homeowners get to enjoy without taking care of. A paver patio with a fire pit runs the full length of the home, featuring covered and open areas to take full advantage of the beautiful sunsets over the Cascades. Spencer designed the home with windows coming right into the corners to maximize the glazing to make the views feel as panoramic as possible. Having a very quiet Master Suite was very important to the homeowners, so all interior walls are insulated, some are double thickness to allow more sound insulation, and the Theater Room, Guest Bedrooms, and Office are all located well away from the Master.
