In Design - North Rim - Wild Rye

Designing homes in North Rim is always a fun challenge. Site planning for this home was very critical as it backs up to Mt Washington Dr., but opens up to the mountains to the NW. Working around existing “heritage trees” to pick up all available mountain views is key in North Rim. Spencer situated the mountain modern home with the mass of the garage and low slope shed roof facing the street to help the abundance of juniper and ponderosa to visually screen the house and protect a big south-facing entry courtyard while allowing all of the public parts of the house on the view side. They will have the pleasure of working with Kate Darden on the interior design and will have a lot of fun with Earth Designs developing their entry courtyard.
