The Highlands - Macalpine Loop
The lot slopes down on both sides to a natural drainage swale, which lent itself naturally to a home that is dug into the hillside on the 10 acre lot in the Highlands on the western end of Bend. Spencer Williams designed this 6,089 s.f. home is for a young, active family with kids lucky enough to live within easy biking distance from Phil’s Trail and downtown. Along with all of the main public spaces, the main floor has 2 master bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, a home office and an exercise room with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a large bonus room on the lower floor. Kristy Yozamp and McKenzie Hughes are helping them make their interior selections, design the cabinetry, and design tile layouts. Glulam scissor trusses support the vaulted ceiling in the Great Room and continue out to the covered outdoor living space and frames the view of Mt. Bachelor. Separate covered outdoor living spaces house a huge gas fire pit, and outdoor Kitchen, and a heated seating area with plenty of room for friends and family to hang out year round. A series of boulder retaining walls allow us create a large level lawn for the kids to play on with their friends.
