Steve Van Sant designed this home 8 years ago and now we are happy to have the opportunity to build it. The home sits above the sheer rock banks of the canyon on the signature 8th hole of the Fazio golf course at Pronghorn with views following the fairway down through the canyon as well as out to the Cascades. A generous use of stone anchors the home to the site and pairs well with the stucco and exposed beam work to give the home a Mediterranean look that gives Pronghorn its unique feel. To take advantage of the picturesque environment, the home has outdoor spaces ranging from an entry courtyard with open and enclosed spaces, a covered upper floor deck looking down into the canyon, and an expansive paver patio with built-in stone seating, a gas fire pit and BBQ, and a hot tub with a pergola above it, all looking out to the course and the mountains beyond. Inside, the public spaces in the home are all open to each other, utilizing a massive back to back fireplace, exposed beams, and changes in the ceiling to define the connected spaces. The Master wing of the home sits lower than the main floor providing some separation and reducing the overall massing of the home. The upper floor, which is where the three Guest Suites and large Rec Room are, is accessed either by a set of switchback stairs or by using the elevator. Kristy Yozamp has already put in a lot of time with the homeowners to get all of the interior details dialed in. We can’t wait to see this one finished in 2016.
